BACK!

I know, I know... I'm a slacker of a blogger. I have been so busy with life (moving, working, Jack, unpacking) that I haven't even THOUGHT about it. Seriously. I used to be such a blogger...

Well, let's have an update, shall we?

WE MOVED! We are officially living in Hayden, ID at my parents' house for the summer. We are loving being up in North ID again, living here for the first time since we've been married. We both love being so close to both of our families, and are enjoying the freedom that a Playmill rehearsal schedule hasn't afforded us the last couple of summers. (Though we both have "I MISS PLAYMILL!" moments all too often...) Adam is working at Cafe Chulo (a family business) and I'm working here and there at two other family businesses, Rooster's and Plato's Closet. Jack is loving all the attention of grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. I love being home.

GLEE! Adam recently submitted an online audition for our favorite new show: Glee! We know that thousands upon thousands of auditions were submitted and it's a shot in the dark... but sometimes, shots in the dark are killers. Which is what the chance to be on Glee would be for Adam -- KILLER! (Ok, I'll stop with the dorky wordplay. My writing skills have really gone downhill, haven't they?) We'll let y'all know as soon as we find anything out. Promise.

GEORGIA! (I know, you totally love my exclamation-pointed titles. So do I.) On the 18th, the three of us are flying to Atlanta, GA. Adam has an acting/directing opportunity out that way, and Jack and I are lucky enough to get to come along for the ride. We'll be there for a few weeks. None of us has ever been to the South before, and we're excited to soak up some of that famous Southern hospitality. Honestly, this trip has really sneaked up on me (did you know "snuck" isn't a word?) and I'm a little bit nervous... but it's more nervous excitement. I do love traveling. Speaking of which... does anyone have tips about flying with a baby? I've never done this before, and I'm (again) nervous. Please, enlighten me with your wisdom.

JACK! Of course, Mr. Jack has to have his own update section. He IS the cutest member of our family, after all. Jack is such a fantastic little person. He has two jagged little bottom teeth and an infectious smile. He is almost crawling (just has to figure out how to coordinate his arms and legs to work simultaneously) and is a very good eater of anything solid we'll let him eat. He has taken bites of not-so-baby things we've jokingly offered him, as well... like donuts and rice krispy treats. Funny kid. All in all, he's a fun, happy, healthy kid and we love him SO much.

(Mr. Jack Oliver Pingel, in his very grown-up Jumperoo.)

Hopefully the two (or three!) of you that still read this blog feel a little more caught up with our comings-and-goings. We wish you all well, and miss those of you who are far away (especially our Rexburg and West Yellowstone friends! WE MISS YOU!) Here's hoping that all of you are blessed with beautiful summer/spring weather and the happiness and comfort that our Heavenly Father continues to bless us with!

Until next time...

  1. traveling with Jack 101:
use his car seat on the plane (if you can)... it would have to go in a window seat and make sure it is approved for air travel.

don't bring more on the plane than you can carry

Don't apologize if he is crying- not even to the evil eye business man- he was once a whinny baby himself!

If Jack is really screaming and you are super stressed about it- take him into the lav so you can have a time out without feeling like everyone is thinking you are a bad mom.

Feed him during ascent and descent (the rapid change in altitude is torture to baby ears)and the sucking helps open up the ear canal which releases pressure.

I hope this helps! Have a good trip!

  2. YES! I've missed blogger-Darcy almost as much as I've missed real-life Darcy! I go to Panache and feel sad that you're not there. Thanks for the update, we miss you!

  3. Yay! You're back! Online at least. =) Jack looks SO GROWN UP! I was also gonna suggest giving Jack a bottle or binky during ascent or descent. I'm so excited for you guys and all the opportunities you have this summer! Keep us posted.
